Set up in Grok

  • Grok on the web (grok.com).
  • Per xAI, connectors are available to all Grok users · Grok Business / Enterprise accounts need an admin to enable them first.
  • A ScanFood account that is the shop owner, or staff with the “View reports” right (see the rules).
  1. Open grok.com/connectors and press New Connector. (On some accounts this page is called Skills and Connectors, at grok.com/skills-and-connectors — it is the same page.)

  2. Choose Custom, enter the name ScanFood and paste the Server URL:

    https://api.scanfood.co/mcp

    then press Add Connector.

  3. A ScanFood sign-in window opens. Check the address starts with https://api.scanfood.co/oauth/, then sign in with your ScanFood email and password. If the window doesn’t appear, your browser blocked the pop-up — press the connect button again yourself (the window has to be opened by your own click), or allow pop-ups for grok.com.

  4. Choose the shops (tick several, or choose Whole franchise), check the “What it can read” list, then press Allow — Grok picks up ScanFood’s tools by itself.

Ask in a Grok chat, e.g. “Use ScanFood to show today’s sales” — more in Example questions.

When you allow access you can tick several shops in one connection, or choose Whole franchise (branches your account gains access to later are included automatically). When you ask, name the shop or branch in your question — if the connection covers several shops and you don’t, ScanFood never guesses: it sends the list of shops back so the AI asks you which one you mean. Every answer the AI receives carries the name of the shop the numbers belong to. Totals across all branches are available when “Whole franchise” was chosen (example questions). To add or remove shops later, disconnect and connect again (how to disconnect).

Delete the connector at grok.com/connectors. To cut access on the ScanFood side too, disconnect at api.scanfood.co/oauth/connections.

Data Grok reads from ScanFood is sent to xAI for processing, under its policies and your account settings — see Permissions & privacy.
